Good point! Having a ‘coffee name’ or a ‘juice name’ is also a lot of fun, as long as you don’t forget what it is! Mine’s ‘Esmerelda’ and my boyfriend uses ‘Fabio’.

These tips are great. I would also recommend having a coffee name if your name is unique. The amount of time people spend spelling or repeating their names to the counter person is mind boggling. Translating Joachim to Jim will save hours off your life (including those standing in line!)

Loved this post! I am still amazed of how many different kinds of coffees you have here in Oz. In Italy we basically have espresso, macchiato, cappuccino and caffe’ e latte… Which reminds me… many foreigners in Italy ask for a “latte” and get very upset as all they get is a glass of milk!!! As latte, means milk… so… if you ever go there and want to drink a “latte”… order a “caffe’ e latte”…

I know how you feel. I cut back to one coffee a day so if it’s not near perfect I get pretty cranky. Ah, first world problems.

These are great tips! I don’t drink coffee that often but that means that if I do have a cup it has to be exactly right
